I ordered my Primary Arms 2.5x Scope w/ ACSS with the optional Kill Flash and Prism Scope Picatinny Rail. My initial impression on this scope was that I really liked it, the features it offered were top notch, the build quality was excellent and it was exactly like it was advertised. However after the first range trip while I was zeroing it, I realized that the scope was coming loose from the base that attaches to the picatinny rail. When I got home and got the scope off I inspected the scope and figured out that the 2 Allen screws that attach the base to the scope have come loose. I contacted Primary Arms and they were kind enough to send out some blue loctite. I put the blue loctite on and it was good for another couple range trips before it started to loosen up once again on me. This time I went out and purchased red loctite myself and applied to the allen screws, and so far it has been holding really well. I really hope this solution fixes the problem as you know have probably read I have painted the scope and not sure if they would take it back after that.
The features on the Primary Arms 2.5x Scope W/ ACSS are really nice. When you zero the rifle at 50 yards the bullet drop indicators are really nice. I have taken the rifle out to 500 yards and used the bullet drop indicators to help offset my scope and the shots were right on. I am not a great bench-rest shooter but I was hitting 7-8/10 rounds at 500 yards with my rifle. That is good enough for me and what I will be using this rifle for. I never meant for my rifle to a long distance rifle, I wanted something that had a little bit more magnification for longer shots. Sometime in the future I will be adding the Primary Arms Red-Dot Reflex sight to the scope. I am not a huge fan of using the scope indoors, and I will admit I haven’t had much training in using a scope in a CQB scenario so I want a non-magnified site on my rifle to use in that specific situation.
I would highly recommend this right to someone who doesn’t want to spend the money on AIM/Eotech with magnification combo but wants a nicely built rifle scope. Even though I did have a couple issues with the screws getting loose it was easy to rectify the situation and I know have a solid scope on my rifle. The etched glass also makes a really nice touch, even if your batteries die on the scope you still have a site to use, even with the etched glass I still have Magpul back up sites as a “just in case” site.
